  2. It unacceptable the way this traveling tuna can was made. Shotty workmanship. Repeated repairs and service needed. I know it has spent more time in the shop than on the road. Sad statement for what used to be such a quality product. We were considering buying one but now doubt we can trust the product or the people that built it. Shame that this is where American manufacturing lives now.

  4. Amazing story of disappointment with this vehicle.

  5. You are absolutely correct. After a full day of packing we decided to keep all our frezables warm and wanted to turn the heat on but when we went to turn on the heat the thermostats wouldn’tlight up....we had no control over temp selection for heat or cool. Couldn’t use the fireplace as we couldn’t open the sliders due to ice and snow conditions. We left a message with the coach rep and to our surprise he called us back shortly after which we truly appreciated. He gave some diagnostic advise which led to a needed appointment for repairs which he set up for the next morning...and again greatly appreciated. Arrived at 8, chatted with a few people and they spoiled the dog and he enjoyed the treats over his 7 hour wait. So we landed in Myrtle Beach last night and are getting settled in. Next issue...there is rain due so we decide to open both awnings. The large one works...the one over the entry door does not!!!!! If you happen to be in Myrtle Beach state park, stop by for a lemon head candy on site #199 !!!

  6. It has been interesting to say the least the last few days! With the rain that we have had and the canopy over the door not working, it has been a challenge! Or a shower I should say. Nothing like a mad dash down the stairs with a dog & leash to twist you up 1st thing in the morning when HE has to pee at 4 am!!! Out through the (Rain Spout)we go! The rear bath door stop fell off again (block of wood with 10-15 nails) last night so now that comes off the track when you open it too far. We found rear bathroom sink is all glue at base of sink after the tiles were glued down in the bathroom? And the Dining slide is gouging the tile flooring up as it slides! We average about one thing a day we find wrong or broken! As Usual

  7. Saw this rig going down the road on Friday and I saw the website on the windshield. I just read your story and it reminded me of why I got rid of mine.

  8. Saw these nice folks in the park and can't believe the troubles they have had with the motorhome. The manufacturer should be ashamed of what they let roll off the line and should make it right for these people

  9. Hey! I saw you guys on the road! We are in the market for a motor home as my husband is about the retire. What manufacturer is this so we can avoid! Thanks! Love the lemon decal on the back! Hahahahaha

    1. I would be more than GLAD to tell you what manufacturer it is, as we have now spoken to our lawyer and he said it is fine to name names!!! So this is a 2018 Winnebago Sightseer 36Z We bought it off the lot BRAND NEW!! It had something wrong that had to be ordered and fixed when we bought it! and has not stopped the need for being fixed yet! We are on our 3rd trip and over 30 broken items. we are just after the publics opinion of what they think Winnebago should do about this lemon they have sold us!!!! THE MORE REPLIES WE GET THE MORE IT HELPS US AND OTHER CAMPERS LIKE US!!!!

  13. Good morning, first of all I want to say how sorry I am for you, after meeting such nice people! The things that WINNEBAGO have gotten away with is terrible! They are living the good life sucking the company dry putting out LOW Quality products, charging BIG $$$ for their junk and running the NAME of the company their FATHERS worked at into the ground!! Disgusting Winnebago the road you have taken!!

  14. Thanks for the comments anonymous. One of the reasons we picked Winnebago was because of their reputation and thought we were buying a quality high end coach. Definitely weren’t expecting to have all of these issues!

  17. I blame not only Winnebago but also the Rv dealership. Shame on them. Will never look at a Winnebago if they can't stand behind the workmanship. Will never grace that manufacture lot.

  18. Latest update...while we were relocating yesterday the block of wood that keeps the back bathroom door in place while traveling came off once again. The door came off the track and thank God fell on the bed and not into the wardrobe doors.just another loud bang while driving down the road. Thanks to all the people that stopped by today to chat and get a lemon head!!

  19. It was nice meeting you guys and hearing about all the issues your having with you coach. When you pay so much for these things you expect everything to work as it should and not fall apart. It would be nice if just once these manufacturers would stand behind their work. To let it leave the factory with out making sure everything works and all the fluids are filled is pretty poor product control.
I hope it all works out for ya.

  20. Thank you. It was nice meeting you as well. Safe travels!

  22. It was so nice talking with you as well. I’m really glad no one got hurt but that never should have happened to you. Another sad story about the way these rigs are made and allowed to be put on the road.

  23. You can find us on Twitter and we are also on Facebook now. Yelp and RIP off report are next on our list. Please help us in reaching our goal by commenting on your experiences with your Winnebago or motorhome in general. THANK YOU.

  24. WE have now reached out to over 300 of you. It seems like a lot to us, but to (big brother) it is squat! But trust me when I say, I am/was a red head, part German & been told part Mule, I am as stubborn as they come. Which came in handy raising 4 kids - no meant no, throw what ever tantrum ya want I'll be doing something FUN! Anyways. If Winnebago decides to buy this back before we go to lemon law when we get back to NY (which I Doubt) then we will finish pursuing that, if we fail at that I will continue to camp in this THING till I die roaming the country with LEMONS all over it !!!!!!

  25. Hi I understand fully the quality of newer coaches and the monies we spend on them. This is why we own 2 class A rv a 2014 thor hurricane 34e (which we rent out now lol) and a awesome 1999 beaver patriot diesel pusher, Also out of this came a Facebook page called rvdiagnostics.I help people troubleshoot their RV's over phone and video chat. Please check it out.let me know what you think.

  26. Hi Jeff. What a great idea! Also thank you for your service to our country. Winnebago has been good about fixing all of the problems we have had and we now have a few more. Even though they don’t seem like major issues, it’s the amount of them and the time lost that we could have been camping that is most upsetting and the lack of quality for such an expensive rig. The coach is definitely not a high quality product which we thought we were purchasing.

  27. Following with interest. My wife and I are considering upgrading from our 2006 Damon Challenger 353W. Winnebago, Fleetwood, Newmar and Tiffin were the manufacturers we had planned to look at. Your site makes me wonder about Winnebago

    1. Good morning. We watched some YouTube videos by Steve Lehto an attorney from MI and he gives some great tips on buying RV’s. He has a sense of humor which is great too. He suggests having an independent inspection done even on brand new rigs done before purchasing. We wish we had done this as well. Also, read the back of the sales contract before you sign it. Most dealers have a statement that you can’t sue them no matter what happens to your RV. We wish you the best of luck. Others will tell you to buy used because of the initial depreciation and that a lot of the bugs have already been found and fixed. I wouldn’t wish our coach on anyone else! We’ve also had a few more issues that aren’t listed on the site. The lifting mechanism on the 50” TV failed and it fell midway going up. Good luck!

    2. I would also go to Winnebago Face Book page and look at some of the comments listed under the people that have replied that they would NOT recommend!!! WOW there are a ton of them! They would be smart to pull that site down at this point! It is doing them more harm than good I think? But hey it helps prove my point that Winnebago's are just selling/ cashing in on there reputation from the PAST, it will catch up to them eventually!

  28. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YChvJKjW94c We were on (The RV Show USA) Live stream last night, and OMG I just cant say enough of what I think of the Wing man! What a great guy, not only because he talked to us, and listened to our problems, or even that he is in a way trying to help by getting our word out there!! BUT He is there for every one, he is looking out for the general, public/ the CAMPERs mostly but not trying to be unfair to Dealers, or Manufactures. He seams to be a plain old simple NICE GUY! Anybody remember any of them? they may have been born in the 50s or 60s but there are still a few of us around that a hand shake is an honest promise.

  30. As an update to our story. We have gone to arbitration, and awaiting their decision. I feel good knowing we only had to prove 1 of 3 questions to be within the lemon law rights and we feel we have met ALL 3!!! #1 It had a heater control valve that took 35days to get resolved #2 it had wires to the drivers seat that had been shorting out under the seat and causing the breaker to pop repaired at least 3 times and also over 30 days! And as for the loss of value? It sure has lost all trust as a dependable/reliable vehicle, and no where near the money we paid for this coach. I would NEVER have bought this knowing what I know now! So (yes) to the question has the value of this motorhome been significantly diminished.
    Your opinions please?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Some one ask me the other day, what is your plan for winter 2021? WELL that depends on if we win OR lose our Arbitration case. If we win (YAY) but we will not be camping this winter, but will still try to head south & find a place to rent as the coach will be bought back. If we lose (BOO) but you can bet once we get the list of broken items fixed, we will hit the road for the south, Myrtle Beach will again be long stay for us if any sites left by the time we have our answer. So keep watch and look for us there to start out our next adventure. If we win this site may be asked to be removed though lol?

  32. Here is an update : We won against Winnebago, YEP !! I will admit, it was not fun but persistence paid off!!! After being told by them ALL along that we had no case we went all or nothing, and would not settle or make a deal, as we believed we would be able to prove our case, and did! Although the hearing ended months ago Winnebago had certain amounts of time to fight the decision or send a check! And to be as big a pain in my a__ as they could be they took up every day they could. So now here it is Dec and we are trying to purchase another motorhome to head south and the wait for bank clearances and Title documents (as a lien pay off was in play) is holding us up, up to another 52 days! Wow ya have to love CAMPING a ton to go through all this!!!!!!! So WE the (Lemon Heads) should be back at Myrtle a few sites from last year. So stop by and say hi if you saw us last year. Just look for WALTER. BYE 4 now and happy camping.

  33. A 2021 update, We have purchased a used 2018 Dynamax DX3-37Ts, a model with a similar floor plan as our Sightseer was but on a Super C (Freightliner) frame. I like the ride and handing and just the feel of more safety of the TRUCK, though I miss the 2 bathrooms and comfortableness of the king bed mattress they had in the Winnebago I DON'T Miss the daily rep airs lol !!! This year as we feel more confident in our choice of Rigs, we can wander a bit further south and west. We are at Myrtle Beach State Park for a month that is up soon. Then we are traveling to the Florida pan handle, and follow the Gulf coast all the way to the Mexican border. After that we will swing up and stop at (RV SHOW USA) Allen's-(Big Chief Campground) to see if we can set around the campfire and chat with him for a bit. Then off to Jacksboro to see my niece for a few days, then who knows where we will land next!! I want to thank all our followers and wish you all happy camping for now till the next time I think about ya all out there in CAMPING LAND .
